Cancellation & rescheduling policy
This Policy explains how Customers and Providers may cancel or reschedule Services booked through NABOFIX. It forms part of the NABOFIX Terms and Conditions and should be read together with the NABOFIX Refund, Cancellation, and Credit Policy. If a booking displays category-specific cancellation terms before confirmation, those terms govern that booking unless applicable law provides greater rights.
NABOFIX is a marketplace connecting Customers with independent Providers and Service Professionals. Unless NABOFIX expressly states otherwise, the Provider — not NABOFIX — performs the Services.
1. How to Cancel or Reschedule
Customers should cancel or request rescheduling through the Platform:
Open Bookings or My Projects
Go to your account and find the section listing your active and upcoming bookings.
Select the applicable appointment
Choose the booking you want to change from the list.
Choose Cancel Booking or Reschedule
Pick the action you need for that booking.
Follow the instructions and retain the confirmation
Keep the confirmation NABOFIX provides as your record of the change.
If the feature is unavailable, contact NABOFIX Customer Support at support@getnabofix.com or 1 800 GET-NABO.
A cancellation becomes effective when:
- the Platform displays a cancellation confirmation; or
- NABOFIX Customer Support confirms receipt.
Contacting only the Provider, leaving a voicemail, deleting the app, removing a payment method, or disputing a charge does not automatically cancel a booking. Use the Platform or contact NABOFIX Support so the cancellation can be properly recorded.
All deadlines are calculated from the scheduled local start time at the service location.
2. Standard Customer Cancellation Schedule
Unless different terms were clearly disclosed and accepted before booking, the following schedule applies:
| Time of cancellation | Standard treatment |
|---|---|
| More than 24 hours before service | No standard cancellation fee |
| Between 2 and 24 hours before service | Late-cancellation fee of 50% may apply |
| Less than 2 hours before service | Same-day cancellation fee of 20% may apply |
| Provider is traveling or has arrived | Disclosed trip/service-call fee, approved expenses, and applicable cancellation fee may apply |
| Work has started | Customer may owe for completed labor, approved materials, and other authorized costs |
NABOFIX will disclose any applicable cancellation fee before the Customer confirms the booking. Fees will not exceed amounts permitted by law.
Documented, nonrecoverable costs approved by the Customer — such as special-order materials, permits, equipment rentals, parking, tolls, delivery, or disposal reservations — may remain payable even when no standard cancellation fee applies.
3. Free Customer Cancellation
A Customer may generally cancel without a NABOFIX cancellation fee when:
- cancellation occurs more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time;
- the Provider materially changes the confirmed price, scope, or appointment without the Customer’s approval;
- the Provider cannot lawfully perform the Service;
- the Provider lacks a license or credential expressly required for the confirmed work;
- the Provider cancels or fails to appear;
- NABOFIX or the Provider agrees that severe weather, an emergency, or another exceptional circumstance makes performance unreasonable; or
- applicable law provides a right to cancel without penalty.
The Customer may still be responsible for lawful, previously approved, nonrecoverable expenses or work already performed.
4. Late Cancellations
A cancellation within 24 hours of the appointment may prevent the Provider from replacing the reserved time and may involve committed staff, travel, vehicles, equipment, or materials. NABOFIX or the Provider may therefore charge the fee disclosed at booking.
The fee may be waived or reduced when supported by reasonable evidence of:
- a medical or family emergency;
- dangerous weather or official travel restrictions;
- a utility interruption that prevents the work;
- an inaccessible property caused by circumstances outside the Customer’s control;
- a material Provider delay or failure to communicate; or
- another extraordinary circumstance.
Waivers are evaluated individually and do not create a right to the same outcome in another matter.
5. Customer No-Shows and Denied Access
A Customer may be treated as a no-show or late cancellation if the Customer:
- is unavailable at the confirmed time;
- does not provide lawful access to the service location;
- provides an incorrect or inaccessible address;
- fails to arrange required parking, entry codes, keys, gate access, or building authorization;
- fails to secure pets or disclose known hazards;
- is not authorized to approve the work;
- is unresponsive after the Provider arrives; or
- prevents the Provider from beginning the confirmed Service.
The Provider should make reasonable efforts to contact the Customer and wait an approved waiting period, such as 15 minutes, when safe and practical.
The Customer may be charged the disclosed cancellation, trip, waiting-time, or service-call fee, plus properly documented and nonrecoverable expenses.
6. Rescheduling by a Customer
A rescheduling request is subject to Provider availability and is not confirmed until accepted through the Platform or otherwise confirmed in writing.
More Than 24 Hours Before Service
A Customer may generally reschedule without a standard fee when the request is made more than 24 hours before the appointment and the Provider accepts the new time.
Within 24 Hours of Service
A request made within 24 hours may be treated as a late cancellation if:
- the Provider cannot accommodate the new time;
- staff, travel, materials, equipment, permits, or disposal resources were already committed;
- the Customer repeatedly reschedules; or
- booking-specific terms state that late rescheduling is subject to a fee.
The original appointment remains active until the Provider accepts the change. A Customer who does not attend the original appointment without receiving confirmation may be treated as a no-show.
7. Provider Cancellations
Providers must cancel or request rescheduling as early as reasonably possible through the Platform.
A Provider may cancel without penalty when:
- the project is illegal or outside the Provider’s lawful authority;
- the property presents an undisclosed material safety hazard;
- the Customer requests work materially different from the confirmed scope and the parties cannot agree on revised terms;
- the Customer threatens, harasses, discriminates against, or endangers the Provider or Service Professional;
- required access, utilities, permits, or site conditions are unavailable;
- severe weather, illness, vehicle breakdown, emergency, or another event outside the Provider’s reasonable control prevents performance; or
- NABOFIX authorizes cancellation.
Providers should submit supporting information when requested.
Repeated, avoidable, last-minute, discriminatory, retaliatory, or bad-faith cancellations may result in:
- reduced marketplace visibility;
- cancellation charges or loss of related fees;
- withholding or adjustment of payouts;
- loss of leads or booking privileges;
- required corrective action;
- account suspension; or
- account termination.
Providers may not cancel a booking to complete the same NABOFIX-originated project off the Platform or to avoid Platform fees.
8. Provider No-Shows and Delays
A Provider must notify the Customer through the Platform as soon as the Provider expects to miss the appointment or arrival window.
If the Provider cancels; fails to arrive within the confirmed arrival window; does not communicate a reasonable delay; or cannot perform the confirmed Service, the Customer may:
- cancel without a cancellation fee;
- request a replacement Provider;
- request rescheduling; or
- request a refund of prepaid amounts for unperformed work.
A Provider is not automatically a no-show when delay results from severe weather, road closures, an emergency, incorrect Customer information, denied access, or another circumstance outside the Provider’s reasonable control and the Provider communicates promptly.
9. Cancellations After Travel or Arrival
If the Customer cancels after the Provider begins traveling or arrives, the Customer may be responsible for:
- the trip, dispatch, diagnostic, or service-call fee disclosed before booking;
- the applicable late-cancellation fee;
- reasonable waiting time if disclosed;
- approved tolls, parking, rentals, deliveries, or disposal costs; and
- other documented, Customer-approved expenses.
The Provider must not inflate travel status or expenses. False arrival, travel, time, or expense records violate the NABOFIX Terms and Conditions.
10. Cancellations After Work Begins
Once work begins, the matter becomes an early termination of the Customer-Provider service contract.
The Customer may be responsible for:
- labor already performed;
- installed, delivered, custom, or nonreturnable materials;
- approved permits, rentals, deliveries, hauling, or disposal costs;
- necessary work to leave the property safe and protected;
- approved change orders; and
- other lawful amounts included in the service contract.
The Provider should stop work safely, protect the property, provide an itemized closeout invoice, identify unused Customer-paid materials, and explain any remaining balance or credit.
A Customer’s decision to stop work does not waive claims for unauthorized, defective, unsafe, or incomplete work.
11. Multiday and Recurring Services
For a multiday project, cancellation may end only future work. Amounts for completed work, authorized materials, and committed nonrecoverable expenses may remain due.
For recurring Services:
- cancellation stops future appointments after the applicable notice period;
- an appointment already inside the late-cancellation window may still incur a fee;
- canceling one appointment does not automatically cancel the recurring plan unless the Customer selects that option; and
- canceling a recurring plan does not automatically cancel a separate subscription or membership.
The booking flow must clearly distinguish Cancel This Appointment from Cancel All Future Appointments.
12. Provider Subscriptions and Advertising Plans
Canceling a booking is different from canceling a Provider subscription, membership, or advertising plan.
Providers may cancel a recurring NABOFIX plan through [Subscription Cancellation Method]. Unless the enrollment terms or applicable law state otherwise:
- cancellation prevents the next renewal;
- access continues through the end of the paid billing period;
- the current billing period is not prorated;
- already delivered advertising, leads, or benefits remain chargeable; and
- cancellation does not eliminate an existing unpaid balance.
NABOFIX will disclose recurring terms and provide legally required cancellation methods and notices.
13. Emergencies, Severe Weather, and Force Majeure
NABOFIX encourages safety-first decisions. A booking may be canceled or rescheduled when performance is prevented or made unsafe by:
- hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, snow, ice, extreme heat, wildfire, or another dangerous weather condition;
- evacuation orders, road closures, utility failures, or government restrictions;
- fire, gas leak, structural instability, exposed electrical hazards, hazardous materials, or unsafe sanitation;
- serious illness, accident, or family emergency;
- civil unrest or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.
NABOFIX will review related fees and refunds based on responsibility, notice, work performed, expenses incurred, and applicable law.
For an immediate threat to life, safety, or property, contact 911, the fire department, police, utility company, or another appropriate emergency authority. NABOFIX is not an emergency-response service.
14. Cancellation Rights Required by Law
Nothing in this Policy limits a nonwaivable consumer right.
Certain in-home, door-to-door, home-improvement, telemarketing, financing, subscription, disaster-repair, or other transactions may provide special cancellation periods or required notices. Federal law may provide a three-business-day cancellation right for certain sales made at a consumer’s home or another qualifying location, although sales completed entirely online, by mail, or by telephone generally are not covered by that specific federal rule. State and local laws may provide broader protections.
Providers are responsible for giving Customers any legally required:
- notice of the right to cancel;
- cancellation form;
- home-improvement contract;
- emergency-work authorization;
- financing disclosure;
- deposit disclosure;
- delayed-start notice; or
- other consumer documents.
If mandatory law conflicts with this Policy or booking-specific terms, mandatory law controls.
15. How Cancellation Affects Refunds
Refunds, credits, deposits, materials, processing fees, tips, Provider payouts, and chargebacks are governed by the NABOFIX Refund, Cancellation, and Credit Policy.
In general:
- a timely Customer cancellation is eligible for a refund of prepaid amounts for unperformed work, less lawful nonrecoverable expenses;
- a Provider cancellation generally entitles the Customer to a refund of prepaid amounts for unperformed work;
- a late cancellation or no-show may result in disclosed fees;
- completed work and authorized expenses remain payable; and
- funds paid directly to a Provider must generally be recovered from that Provider.
16. Disputing a Cancellation Charge
A User may dispute a cancellation charge within 7 calendar days after the charge by submitting a request through [Cancellation Dispute Form URL] or emailing billing@getnabofix.com.
The request should include:
- account holder’s name;
- booking or project number;
- appointment date and time;
- cancellation date and time;
- reason for cancellation;
- amount disputed; and
- relevant messages, photographs, receipts, weather alerts, medical documentation with unnecessary sensitive information removed, or other supporting evidence.
NABOFIX may review Platform records, location or arrival information, messages, call logs, expenses, and User statements. NABOFIX may uphold, reduce, waive, refund, or credit the charge based on the evidence and applicable law.
17. Abuse of the Cancellation Process
Users may not:
- falsely report an emergency or safety issue;
- manipulate arrival, location, or cancellation timestamps;
- repeatedly book appointments without intending to proceed;
- use cancellation to avoid payment for completed work;
- cancel and complete the same project off the Platform to avoid disclosed fees;
- submit altered or fabricated evidence; or
- retaliate against another User through cancellations, reviews, or payment disputes.
NABOFIX may deny credits, recover amounts, adjust payouts, restrict booking privileges, suspend accounts, or take other action permitted by the Terms and Conditions.
18. Changes to This Policy
NABOFIX may update this Policy prospectively. We will post the revised version and update the “Last Updated” date. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required.
The version disclosed at booking generally governs that booking unless a later version is more favorable to the User or mandatory law requires otherwise.
